As community volunteers fanned out across downtown Lemon Grove Saturday morning to do their part for “Operation Clean Streets,” law enforcement was at work behind the scenes conducting a warrant sweep that netted 38 arrests in the city and surrounding areas, according to the San Diego Sheriff’s Department.

Organized by the San Diego Sheriff's Department Court Services Bureau-Field Unit and the San Diego Fugitive Task Force, the sweep targeted Lemon Grove and surrounding areas to apprehend suspects with misdemeanor and felony warrants, according to Sheriff's Sgt. James Blanton.
