Aaron Bobo, a 39-year-old parolee, and Donald Jonescue, 52, both of San Diego, were arrested as they left a La Mesa apartment complex Tuesday. Their arrest also lead San Diego County sheriff's investigators to hundreds of items connected to a five month long burglary spree. Investigators are still assessing all of the property and contacting victims. Authorities say the pair targeted vehicles all over the county, including parking lots at Mission Trails Regional Park and Santee Lakes. Detectives also have evidence that shows the men used victims’ stolen credit cards to buy thousands of dollars in gift cards from local businesses. Surveillance cameras at a Santee store captured the pair making a transaction with a stolen credit card about two weeks ago, but their identities were a mystery. Detectives from the Sheriff's gang detail recognized Bobo, who had a warrant for his arrest for violating parole. Gang detectives and the San Diego Fugitive Task Force helped apprehend the pair. The Sheriff’s Department is working with other police agencies, including La Mesa, Oceanside, San Diego and Chula Vista, to identify open cases possibly connected to the suspects. At least 25 cases have been linked so far. |
