Woman Robbed of Her Purse in La Mesa PDF Print E-mail
On 05-27-11, at approximately 10:45 P.M., La Mesa Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 4500 block of Maple Avenue, in the City of La Mesa.

 

The victim, a 52 year old female, reported to police that she had just returned home from work.  The victim was walking on the sidewalk in front of her apartment complex when she was approached from behind by the suspect.  The suspect grabbed the victims’ purse, which was slung across the victim’s shoulder and pulled.  The suspect simultaneously shoved the victim with his shoulder, freeing the purse from the victim’s grasp.  The suspect ran away with the purse north on Maple Avenue towards University Avenue.  Prior to the police arriving, the victim recovered her purse in a nearby dumpster.  An undetermined amount of money was missing from the victims’ purse.

 

The victim was not injured and the suspect has not been located.

 

Suspect: Unknown race male, 6’ 0”, medium build, wearing a black hooded jacket and baggie blue jeans.  The suspect concealed his face with the hood of his jacket.
